To mark WOOD WOOD’s 20th anniversary, the brand has joined forces with Baserange – maker of consciously designed modern basics – to present a collection that commemorates the unpredictability of nature. Looking at the human body as a reference point, the range seeks to explore the idea that there’s beauty to be found in imperfection. Using natural dyes extracted from the bark of Chestnut, Logwood and Acacia trees derived from the likes of France, Latin America and Australia, each piece displays an unevenness in surface and colour – making every style unique, much like the human form. There are no matching sets within the collection, as all items are designed to complement one another.
Both brands are committed to implementing responsible working practices, so the natural dyes used are both non-toxic and environmentally friendly. The molecular structure of fabrics makes it challenging for natural dyes to adhere evenly, which is why the appearance of each style is likely to vary. The collection invites the wearer to question what we societally view as flaws or mistakes – concepts that don’t
exist within the natural world. Expect a selection of T-shirts, tank tops, bodysuits, leggings, bras and underpants in earthy tones such as Light Chestnut, Logwood Grey and Acacia Rose.
